Governance

Ethical Conduct.

Sceáwian is a corporate intelligence practice. The integrity of the work is inseparable from the integrity of the method. What follows is a statement of the standard our clients can hold us to.

Lawful methods, always

We conduct our work only by means that are lawful in the jurisdiction of the work. We do not obtain information through impersonation of officials, unauthorised access to systems, interception of communications, unlawful surveillance, or the induction of any person to breach a duty of confidence.

Procedural fairness

In workplace and conduct enquiries, we apply a documented procedurally fair process: clear terms of reference, particularised allegations, right of reply, and findings articulated against a stated standard of proof.

Honesty in reporting

We report what the evidence supports, no more, no less. Findings are graded and sourced. Where evidence is absent, contested or insufficient, we say so.

Restraint on scope

We decline instructions to obtain outcomes; we accept instructions to obtain answers. Scope is agreed in writing and adjusted in writing.

Independence

We work under written engagement and conflict-check. Our findings are the client's; they are not shared, aggregated or resold.

Care for individuals

Persons who become subjects of an enquiry retain rights: to lawful process, to privacy under law, and to fair treatment. Our process respects those rights.

Security and confidentiality

Sensitive information is handled through secure channels, under encryption and access control, retained only as long as necessary and defensibly destroyed.

Engagements we decline

We decline instructions inconsistent with this framework, including work intended to harass, intimidate, deceive or unlawfully surveil.
